What a week in week 2 for Mr X, we got of to a balter with He’s A Balter getting the win at $7 and then the champ Verry Elleegant went Bang where she was $2 into $1.60 especially once the rain started to fall. And then we had 3rd and 3rd with Aidensfield and La Mexicana both going close but getting us back $2.20 and $2.30 respectively. All up on our $100 spend we got $215 back so a very nice return.
This week Sydney racing returns to Rosehill, which has had a decent break thanks to Covid outbreak out west, track will be good and rail true – personally not the biggest Rosehill fan as hard track to read. Melbourne has Moonee Valley night racing tonight and then heads to Sandown for the Grand Final Day races – track could be a soft 5 with a bit of rain about and rail true – on pace runners usually go better here with these conditions.
Melbourne Races 1 – number 4 – Esta La Roca – $20 Win ($2.60 Currently)
Scratched from Moonee Valley Friday night and she has good track and distance form as well as decent good and soft track form. Has raced in better races previously and measured up well beating some very quality horses there. Should lead or sit right on speed and race should suit her big time.
Sydney Race 4 – Number 6 – No Compromise – $20 win($2.75 currently)
Had a great run last start in the Newcastle Cup where he should have won but got out clear too late and charged home for 3rd. Should be a bit of pace in the race which will give him every chance to run home over the top of them. Loves this track and did win one and finish 2nd in another here over 2400m in July, although on slow and heavy but still has ok good track form. 2 and 7 dangers.
Sydney Race 7 – Number 4 – Nimalee – $10 each way ($7s currently)
Got a lot of respect for this girl, she is 2nd up (3 starts for 1 win and 1 2nd) and comes back to Rosehill where she has very good form winning a G2 race over this trip here and that was on a good 4. She got a mile back last start in the Theo Marks and flew home to narrowly miss the placings, she is very adaptable in running and expect to see her sit closer to the speed as there isn’t too much speed in the race. 2 and 5 the dangers here.
Melbourne Race 8 – Number 5 – King of Hastings – $10 each way (Currently $6)
Forget he went around last start, had to battle the breeze and do far too much work, will get a better run here and be very hard to beat. Has decent form on good or soft track (in case the rain comes). He has had a jumpout since coming back to Melbourne and after his last start failure. The stable knowwhat they are doing and he had a decent Qld trip. 2 and 6 the main dangers.
Melbourne Race 9 – Number 11 – Flexible – $10 each way (Currently $5.50)
Tremendous win over 1600m first up here but on the Lakeside track, she steps out to 1800m and has massive upside. She has a great barrier in 4 and Damien Oliver on board, she was huge in a G1 in SA over 2000m last campaign and she will only improve from here, but I think this is a great stepping stonefor her and she should be up there at the finish. 3 and 15 the dangers.
