3 Games to watch on College Football Saturday-Week 4

After a near perfect 4-0-1 on the record after my first week of college football previews. I’m back for week 4 and I’m pretty excited about this weekends slate. To avoid showing any favouritism to my Florida Gators, who were unbelievable in last weeks game against Alabama, suffering a narrow 2-point loss against the defending national champions. But this isn’t about Florida, this is my Week 4 Preview, and we start off with a bang.

Texas at home to Texas Tech in a beautiful Texas derby game. The “always back, never actually back” Texas Longhorns taking on a team I really think will give them a test and probably come out with the win in Texas Tech. The Longhorn’s Secondary is probably the weakest part of their defence and hasn’t really been exposed yet. In the loss to Arkansas in week 2 they were ran all over and physically dominated in the trenches. But this Texas Tech side has a high tempo passing offense that will definitely throw another test to Sarkisian’s defence. Texas are favourites to win this one with the line at +/- 9 and the total is 61.5 thanks to BlueBet.com.au.

My plays for this one will be Texas Tech +9 and Over 61.5. I may even sprinkle a little money on Texas Head 2 Head for this at $3.90

The second game I want to talk about is Rutgers at Michigan. Michigan has blown the doors off everyone they’ve played in the first 3 weeks of the season and find themselves ranked 19th in the country. Meanwhile Rutgers have had 2 big wins and one hard fought victory against Syracuse. Michigan was criticised heavily in the offseason for giving their head coach Jim Harbaugh a one-year extension on his contract after a less than impressive run of seasons, but he appears to have the team playing well so far. Rutgers on the other side have been playing above expectations since hiring their head coach Greg Schiano, the same Greg Schiano Tennessee hired and fired just 2 years ago.

My biggest issue coming into this game with Michigan is that they haven’t really played a tough game yet, but you can only beat who’s in front of you. Their toughest opponents were meant to be Washington in week 2 however they seem too not be very good at all. While Michigan are deserved favourites, I can’t help but think Rutgers are going to give them a big test and cover the points, which are currently +20.5.

My plays in this one are Rutgers +20.5 and Over 49.5.

This next one for me is quite possibly the biggest game this weekend when it comes to the Playoff ramifications. If Oklahoma Jag a win, no worries, they keep marching towards a probable Playoff spot, if they lose to a Mountaineers team coming of a big yet unconvincing win over Virginia Tech it will be a huge dent in their aspirations, but likely won’t knock them out just yet. Unless West Virginia absolutely blow them out I still see Oklahoma as a likely member of the final for.

Spencer Rattler, who at the start of the season, before a game had been played was most peoples favourite for the Heisman Trophy, although he has been far from the player anyone expected him to be. While West Virginia haven’t been too bad over the last 2 seasons, there are murmurs within the chat rooms that if they don’t have a good season this year, he may be on the Hot Seat.

My play for this one is simply the Over 55.5. I’m not confident in either of these teams to cover the points, maybe a 1st half line in Oklahoma’s favour might be a smarter play.

The last game for this week I want to discuss is UNC v Georgia Tech. I just love the UNC jersey colours no matter if its home , away or an alternate. The Baby Blue with the white helmets or the all-white with sky blue trim and Blue helmets, Its just beautiful.

As for the game itself, Tech only just got beaten last week by supposed giants Clemson by 2 points, but on the other side, UNC have in my books the future Heisman Trophy winner in Sam Howell. UNC has been good not great so far and this will definitely be a test to prove whether they are as good as people say they are, and a big numbers day for Howell could put him right at the top of peoples Heisman list.

The plays for this one are Georgia Tech +12.5 and the Under 63.5.

Plenty of other good games to watch including Notre Dame v Wisconsin and Florida v Tennessee, whatever your play is, always Gamble Responsibly. Enjoy the day.
