Its time for Week 4 of Mr. X’s Saturday Horsing Around Tips
Great start for week 3 with Esta La Roca getting the win at $2.60 and then No Compromise got scratched and is running this weekend in the Group 1 Metrop. Nimalee almost got us the win but came 2nd paying $2.40 the place and then King of Hastings got 9th and Flexible 6th so we finished down $5 for the day but still up overall.
Racing this week sees us head to the best racetracks for each state with Melb at the home of racing in Aus Flemington and in Sydney we head to Randwick. Flemington the rail is out 9m and the track should be a soft 5 – 6 and should play fairly even. Randwick the rail is in the true position and is a good 4 and should stay around that good 4 range for the day.
Melbourne Race 4 – Number 1 – Zoutori – $30 win (Currently $3.50)
Personally I love the straight races and so does our first bet here Zoutori, won the Newmarket here over 1200m 2nd up and comes into this race 2nd up after a very narrow 4th last start over this same distance and track against most of the runners here where he is meeting them 3kgs better off at the weights. He doesn’t want the track to be too soft and if it does look like it will be in that soft 7 range then have a saver on number 3 Kemalpasa who also loves the races up the straight and was very good 1st up.
Melbourne Race 8 – Number 13 – Tralee Rose – $10 each way (Currently $8.00)
Very open race with the winner getting an entry in the Melbourne Cup, this race is always one to start the run to the cup for a number of horses. Going with the 5yr old Mare Tralee Rose here, she has good form at the track and the soft conditions will suit her. She has finished 3rd her last 2 starts and building nicely into this race and won over 2600 and 2800 last prep and going better this time in. She will be a great price and main dangers are 11, 2 and 12.
Sydney Race 6 – Number 1 – Masked Crusader – $30 win (Currently $2.30)
Recently Wayne Hawkes compared Masked Crusader to the great Chautauqua and recently he has had similar poor early speed and last start trying to chase the best sprinters over 1100m was going to be a bit much, stepping out to 1200m here is better suited and this could be a nice warm up race for him towards the Everest and I feel 5 and 8 are his main dangers.
Sydney Race 8 – Number 6 – Hungry Heart – $10 each way (Currently $9.00)
Her last 2 runs have been excellent this prep finishing a slashing 4th last start on a slow 7 which is not her favourite going and before that struck trouble and still only finished less than 2 lengths off the winner in 8th. She should be peaking here 3rd up and gets in at 52kg and if the track stays good range she will be there at the finish. 1 and 9 main dangers and if the track gets to soft take a look at 7.
