Week 5 College Football Preview

So last week was chaos in the College Football world.

Clemson all but eliminated from playoff contention after losing a 2nd game and its only September. All of the top Heisman contenders from the start of the season, including my pick UNC’s Sam Howell have all been incredibly underwhelming. This is the most open a College Football season has been in the playoff era by far. But as the teams do, We go again.

The first game I want to talk about is Wisconsin at home to Michigan in a Big 10 special. Michigan has been playing amazingly this season so far, blowing out the teams they need to blow out, and winning the tough games, while Wisconsin on the other hand have a close lost to Penn State in week 1 and easy win over EMU and just last weekend were blown off the field by Notre Dame, who themselves were underwhelming until that game.

The face that Wisconsin are the Favourite in this game is amazing to me. Home Field advantage or not they have already proven they don’t have the ability to beat the good teams. While Michigan have won all 4 games including blowing out the first 3 teams and surviving an expected tough game against Rutgers last week.

My plays in this one are Michigan +2 and Michigan Money Line/ Head-to-Head. The Total is a tough one, If Michigan is on it could hit but I’m not going to touch it for this one.

The second game I want to talk about is Cincinnati at Notre Dame in a G5 v P5 clash. Cincinnati along with BYU are the Group of 5 conferences best chance to make the playoff, and until Notre Dame beat down Wisconsin last weekend, I would have thought this could be a clean win for Cinci. Both teams are undefeated so far with Notre Dame at 4-0 and Cinci at 3-0 after an off week last weekend.

Notre Dame’s big win over Wisconsin is the only gauge I have on this game, so I am leaning them for the win. Power 5 against group of 5 isn’t always a done deal but Notre Dame seem to have gotten their season back on track, but the Bearcats are a well-coached team.

Nevertheless, My plays for this one are Notre Dame Money Line/Head to Head and the Over 50.5.

The last game this weekend I want to talk about is in my mind the biggest of the weekend. Forget TCU v Texas, Arkansas v Georgia which are both great games, my biggest game is Ole Miss at Alabama. Do not be mistaken Alabama are not the same Alabama from the past season, there defence is not great and Ole Miss’s offence is something else this year with QB Matt Corral currently a leading contender for the Heisman trophy, alongside Bama’s QB Bryce Young.

I don’t think there will be a lot of defence played in this game and if it was at Ole Miss, I wouldn’t hesitate in picking Ole Miss Head-to-Head but with Bama at home I think it will be a tough game. We’ve seen Bryce Young struggle on the road like against Florida, but at home with that loud Bama fanbase he should be able to put in another good performance. While this will be Corral’s first road game for the year and what a place to play it. I still think he will be fine; he has all the confidence in the world and a Coach in Lane Kiffin who has the biggest balls of all coaches and backs his guys to execute.

My plays for this one are Ole Miss +14.5 and as much as I like the over in this game, 79.5 might just be ab bit to high. I’m taking the under as well.

After going 3 and 4 last weekend I’m hoping to bounce back with another positive if not perfect weekend. All these odds are taken from BlueBet, Australian owned and that’s why we love them. As always Gamble Responsibly and bet with your head not over it.
