Well, last weekend was something else wasn’t it. Although we didn’t talk about it in my preview blog last week, I did mention Texas A&M’s massive win over #1 ranked Alabama, there was a lot of other chaos in the College Football world, like Florida State actually beating UNC and a phenomenal comeback win by Oklahoma with there 2nd string now 1st string QB. But if you want to read all about the chaos, check that blog out on the Site.
This is my College Football Sunday preview and as you can tell I’m still having troubles deciding on the name, so if you have a suggestion hit me up on my twitter @JustJamieB90 and I will consider it.
The first game I’m looking at this week is my #20 ranked in the country University of Florida Gators up against LSU. Now last week the Gators had a big 42-0 win over Vanderbilt in a great defensive performance. While LSU you beaten down by underrated but undefeated Kentucky 42-21. Now both teams have lost to Kentucky in the last 2 weeks so not a lot to go by there, but I like my Gators in this one (bias aside). Emory Jones is playing incredibly good after a slow start to the season and our defence seems to have got it together this season. LSU are struggling this year and Coach Orgeron is well and truly on the hot seat just 2 seasons after quite possibly the greatest season in College Football History.
With the line at 12 points, I’m leaning into the Gators -12 and the total at 59.5 is enticing so ill be taking the over in that as well.
The next game I want to preview is undefeated #11 Kentucky against undefeated #1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Now I think its well known that Georgia are on there way to the National Championship with only really one tough game ahead of them against Alabama in the SEC Championship game, I really can’t see anyway the Bulldogs lose this one. Kentucky are good and have been having a great season, but this Georgia team is something else. On defence there relentless and on offense they are unstoppable with whoever that’s starting at QB.
I’m looking at the points of 21.5 and I can’t help but take Kentucky +21.5, I really think they can stay inside that number and keep it close. And the Total set at 59.5 is a bit high for me. I think Kentucky can stop Georgia enough to keep it under and I know Georgia won’t let too many points in. So, the Under is also my play.
The last game I want to discuss it Ole Miss against Tennessee. This has the potential to be a great game. Plenty of Offense on display for sure and not a lot of defence to be played, probably the reason why the total is the highest points total in SEC history currently at 82.5 on BlueBet.com.au. This is a big one for Tennessee fans. A win could put them back into the top 25 and set them up for a great season, somewhere around the 9-5 or 8-4 at the very least. While a loss could leave their fans beginning to question the coach and maybe starting to burn the mattresses. On the other side, Ole Miss have been good this season on offence and were supposed to have sorted out the defence this season, but that isn’t the case.
After a tough loss and somewhat unpredicted loss to Bama and a close win against Arkansas last week in a game they probably should’ve lost, they will want to come out and blow the Vols out of the water here. I don’t think that’s going to be the case and I truly believe that Tennessee’s defence will be able to stop Ole Miss, while I don’t see Ole Miss being able to stop Tennessee’s offense. The one negative or doubt I have over this game is that it could be a look ahead game for the Vols as they play Alabama in Tuscaloosa next week which is the start of a tough 3 game run for them.
Either way, I think Tennessee money line is the play here, and while the Total is as high as it is, I could really see this one going over and ending 54-48 or somewhere around that. So ill be taking the over. And besides, wouldn’t you want to tell people that you were on the winning side of the highest ever total in SEC gambling history? I know I do.
So that’s it for this week’s preview. If you in Australia we don’t get a lot of game this week due to postseason Baseball and the dreadful NBA, but if you have the right apps, you can stream all the games you want. As always, Gamble Responsibly and enjoy the day.
I’ve also decided that every week im going to post a photo of a College Football towns stadium. And with there big game against Ole Miss this weekend, I couldn’t help but start off this tradition with the University of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium.
